The Fulbright Community

The Fulbright Academy Network

The Fulbright Academy is building a community of leaders in a broad range of science and technology-related fields. Our goal is to communicate opportunities and exciting developments in the scientific world, and our audience includes political decisionmakers, leading researchers, students, and the public.

We achieve this by linking some of the 125,000+ individuals who were honored to receive a Fulbright Scholarship in a science-related field.  We recognize that scientific innovation, business saavy other new developments are usually not solitary pursuits; therefore, our network also includes hosts of visiting Fulbrighters and their colleagues. (link to directories of scholars)

For the Academy, the terms "science & technology" encompass work being done in social, natural and life sciences, as well as related disciplines.  Fulbright grantees and alumni work in the following fields: Agriculture, Anthropology, Archaeology, Architecture, Astronomy, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Geography, Geology, Linguistics, Mathematics, Medical Sciences, Physics, Psychology, Social Studies, Sociology, Urban Planning, and Zoology. Fulbrighters also work in business, law, public administration, and teaching.  Academy members come from all of these disiplines as well as others.

The Academy is building community through our programs.  We organize conferences, forums and other face-to-face meetings.  We support relationships by working with institutional members and supporters.  And we build ties through the stories and discussion board on this website and by promoting work of individual Fulbrighters in our newsletter and in other print materials.

Click here to read stories and learn about some work done by Fulbright grantees in these fields. You can also share your stories with others by clicking on the Story icon at the top of the page and making a submission.
